Return of Military Channel
Ahh..but as the reborn and renamed former Discovery Wings...in an effort to refocus and re-brand this digital channel, Discovery will do what the former and differently owned Military Channel failed to do: create a network dedicated to all things military, and with any imagination that can be quite a broad field upon which strategic objectives of viewers and brand awareness can be achieved. With the supply and command resources of Discovery, I sense programming victory...

As a former employee I'm curious.
I'm still trying to figure out what happened here. Did they just take the name? Buy it from the creditors? Looks like Lou Reda the Production house for History Channel's shows picked up our old domain name -www.themilitarychannel.com
There is a load of drama associated with the spectacular flameout of this start-up.

Dom,
I wondered about that too...I don't know the end-game history of the first Military Channel and only remember the now industry notorious burlap bag give-away at the NCTA that allegedly cost a mint and drained much needed resources...even though some folks thought that the History Channel had that theme almost locked up at the time, it seemed that if programmed and marketed creatively, and with enough resources, it was a channel that could find an audience and advertisers..
As it is, History has evolved and even Discovery realized that a more limited theme like "wings" couldn't get lift...
I assume that Discovery did its due diligence and either confirmed that the tradename has been abandoned, lost or available for easy purchase from a bankruptcy court...
The real story of such network failures is always kept bu the employees who were there and those stories are always instructive for those who want to learn...
Thanks..
